Abstract:
This work presents the development of a platform for Android mobile devices, aimed at screening of visual anomalies for school children. This platform allows the faculty of a teaching institution or the municipal education secretariat to register the tests to be applied in schools. After the application of the tests, the platform provides detailed reports on the performance of the evaluated ones for each test, allowing the monitoring of the evolution of the student in a given exam, being illustrated in the form of graphs. From this data, the idea is that those responsible can have more concrete evidence to evaluate student performance and take the most concise actions to the benefit of students. Although the development of the platform has been focused on screening for visual anomalies in students, it is possible to register new tests of any subject, not necessarily for visual deficiencies, and can be used to register tests or tasks of the most diverse school subjects, to remind the classes contents and performance analysis. The platform was developed with the Phonegap framework and its plugins, using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript and AngularJS, in addition to the Ionic framework. The results of the tests of the platform by the users showed that the platform is able to aid in diagnoses of visual disturbances of low order and color blindness, however, it does not serve as conclusive diagnosis. The users thought it interesting to save the results and monitor the evolution of possible disorders so that with this initial information they can act more assertively on the most obvious cases, since there are no known accessible options for the diagnosis of visual anomalies in schools.
