Título: Protótipo de um tradutor de textos de língua portuguesa para libras

Abstract:
This work presents the specification and implementation of a prototype for a Portuguese-speaking translator for Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS). The user must inform texts in Portuguese for the prototype perform the translation process. Initially, it is made in the labeling of Portuguese words of text, and then translate the text following the LIBRAS grammar. After the translation is complete, the user can play videos with the signs in LIBRAS equivalent to the supplied text. Such signals are taken from the Dictionary of Brazilian Sign Language. In tests, the prototype showed satisfactory results, albeit with limitations, especially with regard to the amount of signals present in the Dictionary of Brazilian Sign Language, forcing many words that are spelled in LIBRAS, although a solution implemented to mitigate this situation, by creating an exceptions dictionary. Furthermore, it notes that it is possible to refine the process of translation, to achieve results with better accuracy. The prototype was implemented in the Java programming language, with auxiliary libraries Cogroo and Xuggle.
