Abstract:
Informatics in Health is a field of the science related to the storage, recovery and appropriate use of information of the health area for the resolution of problems and decision taking. The increasing demand of information systems in the area of health has been motivated by the progressive increase of available information and for the conscience that to manage health knowledge bases for traditional methods based on paper is more and more unviable. Physiotherapy is a science of the Health area that has its actions based on its own therapeutic mechanisms systematized by the studies of several fields of the science related to the human body. Thus, it demands the professional to be able to build the patients\\\' diagnosis starting from a great volume of information, to accompany the patient\\\'s functional clinical picture and to supply conditions for discharge from hospital. This work has the purpose of developing a system of information in the health area that aids the acquisition, the storage, and the use of the information during the process of diagnosis definition and the construction of a treatment plan, using Case Based Reasoning. The Case Based Reasoning (CBR) is an Artificial Intelligence technique used for representation of the knowledge and searches to solve new problems adapting solutions used in similar previous problems. The proposed system allows sharing information so that professionals of Physiotherapy maintain their knowledge updated, offering easiness in the administration of knowledge bases and demonstrating practical application of Artificial Intelligence techniques.
