Título: DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UM PROTÓTIPO PARA ANÁLISE DE IMAGENS AÉREAS PARA A AGRICULTURA DE PRECISÃO

Abstract:
Information technology already takes place in farming and plays a key role in modern and globalized agriculture, called "Farming 4.0". The growing demand for an efficient and sustainable agricultural production requires the development of new solutions that enable the sector to "produce more with less". In this sense, this work presents the development of a software prototype that allows the analysis of high resolution aerial images in order to evaluate the spatial variability of a field. To this end, images captured by satellites or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are processed with pattern recognition techniques based on samples – or fragments of the image – defined by the user. The development included a web application with a client-server architecture, more specifically the JavaServer Faces (JSF) framework and a NoSQL database, while the image processing method involved MATLAB. Using concepts aligned to Precision Agriculture, the maps and areas calculated by the prototype can be used by agricultural production managers to analyze the spatial variability of a plantation. The obtained results have direct dependence on the quality of the input images and the samples defined by the user.
