| This work presents the development of a platform to monitor the numbers of television audiences. For this purpose, a peoplemeter was built based on Arduino microcontroller. The device decodes closed captions of analog videos through the Shield Video Experimenter and connects to the network to send the decoded data, via Shield Ethernet to the server socket, using the TCP network protocol. The platform is responsible for monitoring or conducting audience surveys based on data collected by the server. The server and platform were developed in the Python programming language and Django framework, respectively, and together the TVout and Ethernet libraries for the development of the peoplemeter. The audits carried out present the audience numbers accurately. |
