| Currently Brazil produces a large a variety of fruits. Many of these fruits, apple as an example, were introduced in Brazil and in the course of time become very popular among Brazilian consumers. The supply chain of fruits involves activities that range from growing the fruits, planning the storage and sales of the products to the final consumers. Apple production follows the seasonality patterns of each variety, but the demand for this product exists throughout the year. To accommodate the differences between production and consumption, maintaining the quality of the product, it is crucial to plan and coordinate the activities from production to storage and sales of apple to the final consumers. To promote efficiency in sharing information needed to coordinate the efforts throughout the apple`s production chain, for this project, it was developed a web based system that enables integrated planning of the apple value chain. |
