| Diabetes is a metabolic disease that if not treated properly can result in serious health complications, requiring in some cases the daily monitoring of glucose levels in the blood. This work consists in developing a prototype application to help diabetics in maintaining information regarding the treatment of their disease and allow monitoring of their performance by a health professional. The main objective is to allow the diabetic person save and provide for his endocrinologist the measurements of blood glucose, medication use and other personal routine follows along with his own notes, in such a way that the endocrinologist may have a broader overview of the daily performance of his patient. The application was developed in Java programming language to the Android operating system, synchronizing user information with a web service, also developed in Java, and using the database management system MySQL. The prototype built validated the set of established requirements, indicating that its practical application can be a tool for improving patient-endocrinologist relationship. |
