Título: Ferramenta de reconhecimento de gestos da mão
 
Abstract:
This paper presents the development of a tool to achieve the recognition of hand gestures.
Research shows that visual information are responsible for half of the knowledge and bodily
expressions represent 80% of impressions during an iteration. The paper is divided into two
phases, the Image Processing and Recognition. Among the image processing techniques
applied, morphological operations and skeletonization are highlighted. The morphological
operations perform the beautification of the object\\\'s image. The skeletonization is based on
the Zhang-Suen’s algorithm, where the skeleton of the hand gesture is made and submitted to
the fase of Recognition. An adaptation of the calculation of the Baddeley distance compares
two images entering a value in approximation. The combination of these techniques enabled
the development of the tool for recognition of gestures, based on controlled environments.
