Abstract:
This work presents the development of a color measurement software that communicates directly with the spectrophotometer for reflectance data of a color measurement sample, by calculating the numeric color values. The software was implemented by using the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE Community 2017, in conjunction with the C# programming language. To store and manipulate data was used the MySQL database and modeled using the MySQL Workbench tool 6.3. For the communication with the spectrophotometer the i1Pro_SDK_ 4.2 was used, which is a library developed by X-Rite Inc., making the interface with the i1Pro2. The software allows the user to read the reference color, as well as its colorimetric color models information LAB, RGB and CMYK. The software search in the database the closest Pantone, showing the name of the Pantone, the Euclidean distance to the color Pantone and the CIEDE2000 between both colors. For comparison, it was also made the CIE76 and CIE94 calculations. At is possible to save the comparison made in a database wich will feed the software history. When necessary, the user can clear all read data from the screen and, after the first read, the software enables to save the color, opening a registration screen. The results obtained in the usability tests have shown that the software developed have easy access and handling, as well as meets the requirements of the current market.
