| Home automation is a result of human’s desire for comfort and safety in it’s environment. Commercially available solutions for Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) are intended solely for the corporate segment, at prohibitive costs for the home user. This work presents a low-cost home automation prototype that communicates with the devices by generating infrared signals similar to those emmited by their remote controls. The prototype consists of a microcomputer, an Arduino programable microcontroller board and a circuit with an infrared emmiter. |
